Sie wird als eine gutartige G\u00f6ttin beschrieben, die den Menschen hilft, indem sie Ungeziefer ausl\u00f6scht und ihnen die Fruchtbarkeit bringt. Deshalb ist sie auch eine beliebte G\u00f6ttin f\u00fcr die Menschen. Sie erhielt ausserdem den Titel \u201eVerteidigerin des Pharaos\u201c, denn sie galt als die Besch\u00fctzerin und Erzieherin der K\u00f6nige. (Wilkinson, 2020, S. 245)<br><br>Nach Selket gilt Bastet des Weiteren als Tochter des <a href=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/atum\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"855\"><span style=\"color: #FFFFFF;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Atum<\/span><\/a>. Zudem ist sie laut der Entstehungsgeschichte von Memphis die Mutter von <a href=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/anubis\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"876\"><span style=\"color: #FFFFFF;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Anubis<\/span><\/a>. (Selket p, 2021)<br><br>Gem\u00e4ss Kater Paul wurde sie einmal sogar so zornig und w\u00fctend, dass sie in das \u00e4gyptische Gebiet Nubien ging und dort ihren Zorn freien Lauf liess. Nur <a href=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/thot\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"882\"><span style=\"color: #FFFFFF;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Thot<\/span><\/a> konnte sie bes\u00e4nftigen, indem er sich in einen niedlichen Affen verwandelte und der G\u00f6ttin Musik vorspielte oder T\u00e4nze performte und sie dadurch beruhigen konnte. Als sie dann wieder in \u00c4gypten eintraf, war sie komplett verwandelt. Sie war nun nicht mehr die ungezogene und unz\u00e4hmbare L\u00f6win, sondern eben die lieblich schnurrende Katze.
