Zudem gilt sie auch als g\u00fctige G\u00f6ttin der Gastfreundschaft. Sie ist die \u00e4lteste Tochter des Kronos und der Rhea, doch wurde als Letztes von Kronos wieder ausgespuckt. Wie <a href=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/artemis\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/artemis\/\"><span style=\"color: #162521;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Artemis<\/span><\/a> und <a href=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/athene\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/athene\/\"><span style=\"color: #162521;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Athene<\/span><\/a> gilt sie als jungfr\u00e4uliche G\u00f6ttin. Sie bat <a href=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/zeus\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/zeus\/\"><span style=\"color: #162521;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Zeus<\/span><\/a>, ihr den Wunsch zu gew\u00e4hren, dass sie f\u00fcr immer Jungfrau bleiben d\u00fcrfe. <a href=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/zeus\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/zeus\/\"><span style=\"color: #162521;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Zeus<\/span><\/a> erf\u00fcllte ihr diesen Wunsch und machte sie zur H\u00fcterin von Heim, Herd und Altar. Ihre Aufgabe ist, daf\u00fcr zu sorgen, dass auf dem Olymp immer ein Feuer brennt. Sie wurde von jedem Menschen verehrt, denn sie gilt als Herdfeuer, welches im Zentrum des Hauses steht, wo sich alle drumherum versammeln. (Weidner, 2013, S. 37) <br><br>Sie wirkt sehr ruhig und geduldig, sowie friedliebend, da sie immer auf dem Olymp wacht und das Feuer am L\u00f6schen hindert. Nach Hamilton opferten die Menschen immer einen Teil ihres Essens zu Beginn des Mahles an Hestia, noch bevor sie <a href=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/zeus\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/mythologien.ch\/index.php\/zeus\/\"><span style=\"color: #162521;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Zeus<\/span><\/a> und den anderen G\u00f6ttern einen Teil darlegten.
